The East 79th Residence has an industrial, yet chic atmosphere while picking up on the musical background of the client. Vibrant artwork highlight key areas and add a sense of playfulness. The combination of marble with leathers and exotic furs create a luxurious setting in the Upper East Side.
Approaching the entry foyer, there is a custom steel light fixture consisting of concentric rings allowing for a dramatic glow on the ceiling. The living area is presented as a bachelor entertainment area for sophisticated events and wine lovers who enjoy sitting back and relaxing. Separating the entertaining area is a marble fire line with grey leather tufted couches at both ends. Off of the living area is the main dining room that has a 7 foot long custom walnut table flanked with Danish chairs to accent. Hanging above the custom table is a steel dining chandelier that has brass accents playing off the gold tones in the venetian plaster wall treatments. The bar adds an inviting feature to the kitchen with a contrast between Calcutta marble and soapstone. The kitchen cabinets are made with rich walnut woods with a ribbed glass insert for an extra level of detail.
The master bedroom brings in warm walnut tones with a modern flair of white brick and whitewashed beams. Custom furniture including the headboard are designed by New World Design Builders. The children’s room is fast paced with a custom race car mural to bring in colorful tones and a playful charm. The industrial theme is also strung through the room with a steel framed bunk bed and dresser unit.
